I made a script but I keep getting permission denied. I chmod'ed the file to 666 and it still wont run.

The correct permission setting is:

chmod u+rwx scriptname

^^ This will give you the permission to run it.

If you want everyone to be able to run it use:

chmod go+rx scriptname
