For anyone running a small site without to mainly user, i created my own email capture scripts.

It's a simple HTML form and a back in php script that just sends the person email and name to to. I could add a database backend to it, but haven't yet.

If you ain't trying to pay a monthly fee for Aweber or constant contact and only get a few emails, this script works great. Require no database, just php.

but you do have to manually send the email "bcc" to everyone on the list. but if you don't send out a lot of email, this isn't much of a hassle.

but once you do move to a professional email marketing provider everyone will have to double opt in.
