Laptop says Local access only

On the road now and my laptop is not letting me connect to the hotel's wifi internet. Well it is connected but it says local only. How can I fix this?

Check to see if you have the Atheros wireless adapter. If so, upgrade the driver to fix this. ATHEROS drivers for Microsoft Windows

If not, check the firewall settings on your anti-malware software.
